~reviving the blog~

Have you ever wondered how or why it disappeared?
Or where did it fade away to?
When did things begin to change?
Looking back, could you tell?
Because at that time, you couldn't realise it could you?
You were living the moment,

Taking it for granted,
Unaware that it might not last,
Unable to see the path ahead with its many twists and turns,
Consequence of our actions?
Or a consequence of time? Something inevitable?
Something life had planned for us?
If you could travel back through time,
And capture it,
And bring it back here,
Molding it into the current way things are,
How would it be like?
Would you have learnt the lessons life has thought you?
Would you have realised things you have come to realise yourself?
Would you have done the things you have done?
Would you have chosen the paths you have chosen?
Would you be who you are?
Would you be what you are?
But you can't help but wonder,
What if things hadn't changed?
Not everything of course, but just that particular thing,
What if?

Hallloooooo woooorlllld!!! *grins* Do ignore the above. Just some bits and pieces of thoughts that have been floating around in my head. :)

Hehe. Its been 2months plus since my last post (a.k.a my blog went into a coma) so here I am with a lil update to zap some life back into it! ;)

Aite...so what's been happening with me eh?

I've quite officially moved into the new house. The only missing bit is my cabinet for me clothes....so i haven't exactly unpacked yet.

And yes, i've been stuck at the new house. Seriously. No, i'm not cleanning anymore *glares*, now its more of unpacking and deciding where to put things...my catchphrase became 'save nat from the house'...heh...

SO!! When qiks aiman haris and I decided to meet up yesterday for a karoke session, i was beyond ecstatic! It.was.a.blast.! Jon joined us later and *omg* first time, he wasn't 3 hours late. New Year miracle I tell ya. *of course, me misses me singing partner sobs :(* But it was hilarious hearing the guys sing high pitched to M2M and other female vocal songs. And from that to heavy metal songs...then going crazy singing Aqua's Barbie Girl and Kuch Kuch Kota Hei (sp?) lol! Yes guys, when aiman gets back from auz, we shall do this again with more ppl yeah? More kecohness!! ;P

Hm...lets see...what else what else...*thinks*....

Ah yes. Universities. Yes. I shall start uni this year. Twining programme. I do have a few unis in Canada i'm interested in but still doing a bit more info-searching.

I feel like travelling.

I wanna watch The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

I'm in love with The Script.

I wanna go to Jason Mraz's concert.

Tomorrow night my aunt's taking us out for dinner. Translates as: getting out of the house. Yay!

Hmm...yeap. That should be about it for now.

Til next time people. :D

~full of mush~

Mush. Mush. Mush. O.M.G. The amount of mushy-ness can last me a lifetime. It was just so darn mushy!! To the point where its just insanely too much! If there was a Meter of Mushy-ness the little red light on top would be blinking, sirens would be screaming and a mechanical voice would be going "Warning! Overload! Warning! Overload!". Seriously. It was just so...so....what's the word? Wait wait wait. I know the word. It's at the tip of my tongue. Hold it....ah. Right.
MUSHY!.

Okay. What on earth am I exaggerating about now. *no people, Nat has not gone crazy and started talking random nonsense* I'm talking about the new movie Twilight. Just came back from the preview at Curve with Marsh. Malaysian Today (our cousin's newspaper) was organising it so we got free tickets.

Anyways. Back to my ranting. *do bear with me people and please forgive my ranting but this has just got to be said*

I found out about Twilight, a fiction book by Stephenie Meyer, when her latest book Breaking Dawn was on the best sellers list in the bookshops. So thought I'd check it out. Me. Fiction lover. Ya know? Then I found out it was going to be made into a movie. Once again. Me. Fiction lover. So I thought, ok cool, a movie to look forward to.

But I had NO idea how HUGE  this whole Twilight thing was!! Apparently loads of people have been reading the books. And some couldn't even wait to see it in the cinemas so they've been watching bits and pieces of the leaked out version online!! Whoa. It's like some massive thing....which I didn't realise until earlier this evening.

Right. Now the main point. The movie.

It was soooo soooo so so so so mushy. Yeah you probably already know that by now. I guess it was supposed to be a supernatural/action/romance kinda movie. Needless to say, that wasn't it. It started off ok. After about 30 minutes, that's when it all started. There was  hardly any focus on explaining the scenes and dialogue. So if you haven't read the book, you'd have no idea why this or that is happening. Maybe they wanted to save the answers for the second movie. But come on lah, it'd have been much more logical to put them in this one.

Wish they had cast a different guy to play the main lead which was that dude who played Cederic Diggory in the Harry Potter movie. Personally, I don't think he's cute, and therefore doesn't define the term 'vampire' which are supposed to be the best looking people ever. Instead he looked freaky and possesed. *i'm so mean*. Geez, even his vampire brother was better looking. (im so so SO mean). And what on earth was with the vampires' makeup people?! He-looo?? Sure vampires are pale. But pale does NOT equal white. It's as though someone poured a whole bucket of white powder all over their faces. So white that it's so fake. And what's with all that hair gel man?

Acting skills weren't that great. But then again, you don't look for that in fiction movies. So nevermind about that. What you do look for is the special effects. Which were pretty okay. I did like the forest scenery though. That was nice. Soundtrack wasn't that bad either. Owh and it did follow the book quite closely. But they cut out the most important parts - the parts with explanations in it!

And yes!! The editing!! You know when you cut scenes from a movie, you have to do it properly so that you don't notice that something has been cut out? Well whoever did the cutting for this movie better go retake Editing Movies 101. It was SO obvious that scenes had been cut out. The guy is half-way through a sentence and then suddenly he's saying something else. They even cut out one whole critically important part of the explanation dialogue, so that even though the second half of the explantaion was there, you still wouldn't understand because the first half got cut out.

Even for a fiction lover like me, this was a 4/10. Personally, I'd stick to the books. This was yet another good example of an unsuccessful book-to-movie-adaptation. If there are any Twilight fans out there, do forgive my mainly negative review. To each his own ya know?

If you're not a fiction fan, don't bother. If you're a fiction fan, read the book first. Then buy the pirated DVD and watch at home. Plus side: you can fast-forward all the mushy parts.

Phew. Glad that's all out now. Heh. Once again sorry about all the ranting. My update post and it's about me negatively reviewing a movie. My apologies people!!Tongue Ahhh now I can have a more peaceful sleep tonight. Til my next update then! Don't worry, I promise you there won't be any complaining in it.

~give me the book. now. need to get rid of this bad impression in my head~

~a busy week~

My days of non-updatable events came to an end last Friday and has lasted until...well, today. Extra tired today, not exhausted, just reaaally tired. Why? More on that later. So due to the little song playing in my head going "You are sleepy...Go to sleeeep...Close your eyes and sleeeep...."  I'll just give ya'll quick updates yeah? So lets rewind back to last week and start off from there eh?

Friday

Parents dragged my sleepy self out of bed to go to an MPH warehouse sale. My whole family's a bunch of avid readers, so when we go to a book sale, we seriously buy. We're such loyal MPH warehouse patrons that the manager and main salesperson know my mum! Got myself The Other Boleyn Girl  (700 over pages but totally worth reading, especially if you have an interest in history) and a few others.

Immediately after that I followed my mum all the way to Stadium Melawati where they were having a Metrojaya clearance sale. And when they said clearance, what they really meant was clearance of old old stuffs that are probably no longer in production! But it was packed! Massively massively crowded with people! Imagine the stadium full of racks of clothes, household items etc etc!

And now I absolutely MUST complain about the stu-pid system they had when lining up to pay for your stuff. First off. There was no clear line. There were 3 lines, that melded into 2, and then half-way to the cashiers there was another mini line which had somehow formed in the middle of nowhere! Like a bunch of cars stuck in a traffic jam and the lanes had narrowed down from 3 to 1! Excuse the example but that's how it felt like. Best part? There were 2 express cashiers, 5 items or less. BUT. It didn't make any difference because you still had to queue up with the non-express people for over 30 minutes! *rolls eyes* That's Malaysian management for you.

Saturday

Morning was the usual. Housework. So I'll spare you and skip to the evening part. Was over at my grandparent's place to help my grandma, her maid, and my aunt prepare the food for the BBQ the next day. (We decided to have a bbq to celebrate my uncle and aunt's 2nd wedding anniversary and my grandma's early 78th birthday.) Things to do: skewer chicken onto satay sticks and prepare the satay sauces.

My aunt and I were absolute amateurs at satay skewering.

Aunt: Eh, so much meat on yours. Mine 80 cents. Yours RM1.50!
Me  : Ack! The meat's falling off! It's falling off!

But we managed. Hehe. Then the satay sauces. My grandma has this recipe book which she has had since...a very long time ago. Family recipes in other words. She asked me to get 2 stalks of serai. So I went to the pantry to get some when I heard my grandma and aunt laughing.

Grandma: Hello! Where are you going?
Me         : Get...serai...?
Grandma: You think it grows there ah? Haiyo. Come lah I show you lah.

She takes me out to the back garden and shows me serai, growing straight from the ground. Yup. My grandma has her own supply of ingredients growing in her very own backyard! Owh so sue me for thinking serai was in the pantry! The ingredients I use when cooking are either canned, wrapped or frozen.

Sunday

The 'big' day. Got the bbq fire going and we started cooking the satay, beef and chicken wings. My other aunt brought some mediterranean appetizers and my grandma made a literally rojak salad (it had apples, pineapples, cherry tomatoes, lychee). Then my grandma asked my aunt and I to make some fruit juice. We ransacked the fridge and came up with lychee and orange cordials. Mix both and you get Orchee! Try saying it. Sounds like something else doesn't it? Which made my grandma go "Don't tell your grandpa or else you'll never hear the end of it!" My aunt then goes "Hmm...you know what would make it taste nicer? A bit of brandy *grins*" No, we didn't end up spiking the drinks. Instead, we took a bottle of red wine from my grandma's secret mini-bar.

Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday

Mum tells me that a lorry's comming on Friday to move some furniture over to the new house. See, it's the end of the year and it's not easy to get a lorry. So while waiting for our wooden flooring to set (about 3 weeks-1 month), we're moving stuff over, so that by the time the floor is done, we can just shift the furniture from outside to inside.

Which is why during these 3 days I was clearing out cupboards and bookshelves. Wrapping up my mum's glassware and bone china sets in newspaper, turing my blue nails blackish. Think army pattern but in blue and black. Mum told me and my brother to put aside books we wanna give away. The 'unwanted' pile was not very high. Discovered some old pics and spent all night arranging them because I just couldn't stand seeing the pics so disorganised! Slept at 2am.

Friday

Lorry was arriving around 9.30 which meant that I had to wake up by 9. Then my mum comes home and suddenly decides to transport more furniture. Now the house feels and looks so darn empty! Its gonna be a looong day of housework tomorrow. *groans internally and externally*

You probably noticed that Monday isn't there. Yeah. I spent the whole day reading the books I got from the warehouse sale. Don't think that falls under the category of 'busy'. So yeah. That's all I have for ya. Now I'm off to throw myself on top of my bed and take a trip to dreamland!

~tagged by the moon niece~

1) What's the relationship of you and her/him?
My darling niece, intuition, crappy cloud partner, salty friend, singing partner, first-time-(insert) partner..*omg the list goes on* and basically, bestie :)

2) Your 5 impressions towards her/him?
Passionate in everything. Independent. Incredibly crappily saltified. Lives life to the fullest. Major island and perfume girl ;)

3) The most memorable things she/he have said to you?
Mm...can't really remember the words, short term memory loss man, but there's a few. There is one sms that i have, its about 'a beautiful woman is like grass....' rememba dat? Ah. And our lil talk sessions of course ;)

4) The most memorable things she/he had done for you?
There's roughly almost 7 years (omg 7!!) worth of memories and I can't really pick out one specifically...here's a few, the 'completely 100% jap prezzie', saving me from omg-what-do-i-say/do-now moments, being a listening ear and advisor when venting out my frustation and stress about a specific person *you know who right ;)*

5) If she/he became your lover, you will....
Ain't gonna happen. She has her hot stuffs and I've got mine. ;P

6) If she/he became your enemy, you will...
I seriously seriously don't think that's gonna happen. But I'd be doing that capri thing where i look fine but am actually depressed for a very.long.time.

7) If she/he became your lover, she/he has to improve on....
Stop asking me 'how many humps do you have?' coz my answer will always be the same 'nyuh-uh'. :P!! *internal joke* Haha!! Kidding kidding....

8) If she/he became your enemy, the reason is....
That'd probably be kept between us....

9) The most desirable thing to do on him/her is?
*this question is so wrong* Let's just be crappy man. Throw flowers. Send love. Go to islands. Fly around in our private jets, avoiding paparazzi. Have road trips in convertibles with 'omg!this song!' CD playing at maximum volume :P

10) The overall impression of him/her is?
Very true to herself and holds on firmly to her beliefs and principles (sp?).

11) How do you think the people around you feel about you?
Quiet at first glance but, once getting to know me, actually can get pretty hyper and crappy?Blur when lacking sleep? Loves music? I don't know. I ain't psychic man. Go ask them.

12) The character of you for yourself is?
Treasures family and friends. Once I get focused on something, I don't want to be interrupted and won't stop what I'm doing until it's completed (may end up losing track of time). Believes that the small things are important. Don't like arguments (let's just all be friends man). Likes to help. Bit of a perfectionist at times.

13) On contrary, the character you hate of yourself is?
Everyone has their imperfections. But that's what makes them who they are. So yeah, me loves me. Hehe.

14) The most ideal person that you wanna be is?
Someone who can do something, no matter how small that something is, to change the world, no matter how small that change is, for the better. Someone who is happy with the life she's living.

15) For the people who care about you and likes you, say something about them.
You know I love ya too and thank you for caring for me, just being you and being a part of my life! :)

Her beloved ;)

No.3 is a male or female?
100% female

If no.7 and no.10 were together, would it be a good thing?
Depends on the no.10. Besides, no.7's already taken. Too bad...whoever no.10 is.

How about no.5 and no.8?
Again. Same as previous answer.

What is no.1 studying about?
I forgot the exact name. *i.am.so.sorry!!* But I know it's media and something...

Is no.4 single?
As far as I know, yeap!

Say something about no.6?
Island girl. Perfume lover. Didn't I say this already?

There ya go. Tag all done. Quick updates. Mum's been waking me up at 8 for the past 4 days to drag me to the new house. For someone's who's been waking up after 11am and sleeping after 2am, it's the reason why I've been feeling blur during those 4 days. Almost finished narrowing down possible universities to apply to. Might have to do a twining or think of New Zealand (which is constantly being promoted by my mum) if can't get a scholarship.

My aunt's been in a cooking mood and has been trying out new recipes. My mum, brother and I are the guinea pigs. As expected. They're all freaking delicious! *suddenly craves Delicious ceasar salad* On Thursday, my uncle and aunt came over to out new house to try out the oven. Made scones and strawberry jam. First batch looked like siew pao and the second batch looked like rock *the recipe didn't have any eggs, we didn't know if my aunt forgot to write it down or if we really didn't need to add eggs, so we ended up improvising*, but surprisingly, both batches were really good! Freshly made scones and jam, sitting in our new garden, cool breeze, no sun, felt like Camerons.

Been going fishing with my grandma. Lots of fish, but not biting. Probably wrong bait. Hmm...could this be a potential salty plan? Salt. Salt water. Water. Ponds. Fishing. See?! Its connected! Hehe. Ok. That's all for now.
