~light em' up~

Last Sunday we celebrated the mooncake festival at my grandparents place. It's sort of an annual thing that we do. There's bamboo shoots growing outside so we thoght it'd be really cool to hand the lanterns on them. So then you'd see this long row of lanterns in the garden.

BUT!! The minute we took out the lanterns, it started raining. Perfect. But we (as in me, my aunt and brother) wanted to put up lanterns, no matter what the weather was like, so we decided to hang them up inside instead.

~a lantern from the previous year, candle burned a hole right through~

Which reminds me of a lantern we hung up 2 years ago. Somehow the candle fell when the wind blew, and the whole lantern went up in flames! Fwoosh!! Luckily we managed to remove it from the tree before the flames reached the top part.

~cleanning up session~

Unfortunately we brilliantly forgot to put cardboard on the floor. Which resulted in wax dripping all over the floor. Best part is the floor has a quite rough surface, so we used screwdrivers, nails, blade, any sharp object lying around, to chip and scrape it all off. Then my grandma comes and says, "Just pour hot water to melt it. Easier to remove after that." Oh. Yeah huh. Now why didn't we think of that? Hmm....

~pretty lanterns hanging in a row~

The initial plan was to hang the lanterns, then go lantern walking after dinner. But the stupid rain still hadn't stopped. By the time it settled down to a light drizzle, it was already about 11pm. My aunt had to work the next day and my dad had a flight, so, sadly, no lantern walking. Noooo!!! Nevermind. Next year next year.

As you can see, I'm too lazy to update these days. So do forgive me for the short posts. Currently, I'm dying of boredom at home. Sure, I go through unis every now and then, but not every single day! Want my head to explode ah? *damn sad man* Girls, when we going dancing hmm? Oh wait, come to think of it, I have this feeling that I'm supposed to do something, but I can't remember what. *thinks* Anyways. Once again, until the next interesting update-able happening in my life, this is it for now. *still thinking*

~its a rainy day~

Rain has been falling non-stop since morning.
Not a heavy downpour, more like a constant heavy drizzle.
The one that makes you feel dreamy, lazy, sleepy.
A cup of white coffee on the table.
Benji boy curled up by my bed.
Bottles of nail polish in a row.
Music playing in the room.
A book in hand.
A perfect 'me' day.

~1 more for a Diamond~

~thank god my Windows Media Player is back to normal~

Last Friday we celebrated my grandparents wedding anniversary. It was just the family having high tea at their place. High tea in my family = roti jala, roti canai, currypuffs, putu mayam, chicken curry kapitan (my aunt's speciality), pastries, 4 different curries, popiah, rojak and many many pots of tea. Yeah, my family lurves eating.

I was the only grandkid there at the moment (my cousin was on her way and my brother conveniently wasn't around), so the honour of making tea was bestowed upon me. We always run out of tea during these occassions. I think the pots are too small. Anyways, my grandma told me to make an extra jug. Yes. Not pot. Jug. It was a seriously huge jug man. Everything was going smoothly at first, few spoons of tea leaves, add hot water, take out the leaves, pour into the pots...yada yada yada.... Then the part I'm incredibly cacat at...estimating how many spoons of sugar and creamer.

My grandma's mum was Nyonya Baba, which means there's no such thing as 'teaspoon' or 'a cup of...' when my grandma cooks. Or when she makes tea. It's all 'agak-agak' or 'a bit more of this or that'. Which is why, when my grandma came to inspect my tea, she didn't pour a cup of tea to taste it, she looked at it and said "I see the colour already I know not nice." Aiyak.

So the both of us ended up pouring out half the tea, add hot water, mix this mix that, until the colour was perfect. And yes, the tea was perfect. Everyone enjoyed the tea. My grandma damn cun I tell ya!

~with 3 of the grandkids~

My grandpa was pretty hyped up that evening. Telling us his childhood stories. He always has stories from his younger days to tell us. I have a video of one of his story telling sessions but I'm too lazy to upload it *and also because I have no idea how to do it*. The sugee(sp?) cake was good too. Truly a perfect evening!

Going through universities now. Narrowing down the list. Uni of Toronto is at the top of the list at the moment. But I'll have to check out scholarships too. *put that on my To Do List*. Nothing else really. *random* I'm craving Jap food. So til the next update-able happening in my life, that's it for now.

~Class of 2006 Reunion~

~yes, I know, I'm a week late~

Last Friday was Class 2006 reunion at Mezza Notte. Marsh picked me, awin, sufi and qiks up. We would have arrived earlier if not for the stooopid traffic jams that were along our route to KL. One and a half hours man! Anyways, it was so nice to see and catch up with everyone! Even wai soon and chin heng and the rest of them commerce boys were there! In suits some more!! Wah. They looked smart I tell ya. Couldn't even recognise them at the corner table (thought it was a group of strangers) until they started waving at us! It was so silent in the restaurant at first. But once we started talking.... I don't have to finish that sentence, ya'll know what I mean ;)

Here's some pics from that night, the rest is on facebook so go check it out aite?

~see the butterflies fly away~

Results are out!! And yes. The butterflies are long gone from my tummy. Happy with my results. Chem surprisingly my best subject. Cool. Heh. Congrats to all who hit their targets!! I refused to check my results online and so, I only knew my results a day later compared to the others. In the car on the way to college, I attempted to calm the butterflies by listening to my mp3. Music soothes the soul...or is that 'heals' the soul? Anyways. I didn't realise how nervous I was until I signed for the results and noticed that my hand was very very microscopic-ly slightly shaking. Didn't even look at my results until I was far away from the crowd. Oh yeah! Prayers have been answered. Achieved my targets! My mum wasn't with me so I smsed her the results. Less than 15 minutes later I get congrats from my grandparents, aunt and uncle who is currently diving in Bali. Sweat. My my, how news travels these days.

Went for a picture taking session at college today. It was at 10am. Not entirely that early right? Pretty suitable time right? Not for someone who's body clock is set to sleep around 3am and wake up after 11.30am. *Very bad lifestyle. Don't follow.* Mum was gonna drop my brother at college, then we go have breakfast then she'll drop me. So therefore, I had to wake up at 8am. Hence, the blurness in college. Reminds me of the morning when Sarah called and something like the following dialogue happened:-

Dad: *knocks on door* Nat!!! Phone call for you!!!
Me : *pulls self out of bed* huh.........*opens room door and takes phone* (in half awake voice) heelooo.....?
Sarah: Nat! Good morning! Just woke up ah?
Nat : mm...........
Sarah: Aiya sorry sorry..just want to ask about the pin code for the online results
*dialogue about getting the results online..can't remember the exact words* ok lah. Go back to sleep lah....
Nat: k.....
Sarah: Bye!
Nat: bye...... *goes back to sleep*

Back to today's story. Someone  didn't tell me about the plan to throw Jean and Yan a surprise birthday after the picture taking (no worries k?). And since, I didn't know, I already had plans to go out with Qiks. But Qiks had something to do first, so ok, chill at sushi zenmai first. Esther's gonna study Buddhism in Taiwan. Salute man! And she's leaving next Sunday! Omg! Everyone is leaving so fast! Nooooo...! People. We need to go out properly before that ok? Ok. Cun.

Qiks arrived and I had to leave sushi zenmai early *sorry!*. Went to Starbucks and talked talked talked :) . My iced caramel macchiato was extra nice today Wink. Then we began the search for the neccessities for the upcoming shoot. Found awesome stuff with equally awesome prices. Darn. Moving on to retail therapy. I need new heels. One pair is busted and has to be sent for some repairs soon. Last stop was Delish. The desserts are oh-so-incredibly-tempting!! But we love our pasta right? *aiyak. Supposed to go to Rock Corner. Now only remember. Damn it. Stupid short term memory.*

Didn't leave the mall til about 7. Thanks to our beautiful traffic jams, didn't get home til about 8. Walking around a mall in heels is no joke. The nerves in my feet are starting to work again.

That's it from me for now. Looking forward to seeing everyone again this Friday!! Can't wait!! Hm...what to wear? Ah. Figure that out on Friday. Hehe.
